In plain English

SAP doesn't live in isolation. It needs to talk to your e-commerce platform, your EDI trading partners, your CRM, your payment processor, your third-party logistics tools — and increasingly, to AI agents acting autonomously on your behalf.

SAP Integration Suite is how all of that happens — and DEBCOR designs, builds, and operates those connections. If you're on SAP and something external needs to connect to it, Integration Suite is the right platform and DEBCOR is the team to build it right.

Without a Modern Integration Layer

  • Point-to-point connections multiply with every new system
  • Undocumented interfaces no one can safely change
  • No visibility when a connection silently fails
  • AI agents have nowhere reliable to connect
  • S/4HANA upgrade paths blocked by legacy middleware

With Integration Suite — Built by DEBCOR

  • All connectivity governed through a single, monitored platform
  • Every interface documented, version-controlled, and observable
  • Error alerting and SLA dashboards built in from day one
  • AI agents connect via MCP — securely and at scale
  • Clean core compliant — upgrade paths permanently open

Why Integration Suite

Three Reasons. All Strategic.

Clean Core

SAP Integration Suite is the SAP-endorsed extensibility path. New builds and migrations on Integration Suite remove the integration layer from your technical debt register and align your landscape with the clean core architecture SAP requires for continuous innovation.

AI-Ready

Integration Suite is the connectivity backbone for every AI capability SAP is shipping. Joule agents, event-driven automation, real-time process orchestration, and MCP connectivity all depend on a modern integration layer. You cannot run intelligent SAP on aging middleware.

Lower TCO

Standard content packages from SAP replace custom adapters. Unified monitoring and governance via BTP replaces fragmented tooling. Organizations consistently reduce integration total cost of ownership — and free budget for what comes next.

SAP AI Inside Integration Suite

Six AI Capabilities. Already in Production.

SAP has embedded AI across Integration Suite. DEBCOR knows how to activate them — and where each one actually changes delivery timelines versus where it's still maturing.

Joule-Based iFlow Generation

Natural language descriptions translated into iFlow drafts. DEBCOR seniors review, correct edge cases, and harden before promotion to production.

Integration Flow Design Validation

AI validates logic and configuration before deployment — flagging common errors, missing error handlers, and adapter misconfigurations at design time.

AI-Assisted Groovy Script Optimization

Performance recommendations for Groovy scripts in CPI — identifying inefficient patterns, memory risks, and optimization opportunities before they manifest in production.

Migration Agent for Adapter Modules & Java Mappings

Converts legacy PI/PO adapter modules and Java mappings to CPI-native iFlow patterns automatically — reviewed by DEBCOR seniors before deployment.

Payload-Size Anomaly Detection

Flags unusual payload volumes and message-size spikes before they cause downstream failures — giving hypercare teams advance warning instead of reactive incident response.

Configuration Agent

AI-guided configuration review against SAP best practices — identifies drift, documents current state, and surfaces improvement recommendations for existing Integration Suite tenants.

Agentic Integration

Integration Suite Is How AI Agents Connect to SAP.

At Sapphire 2026, SAP confirmed that Integration Suite handles MCP connectivity for Joule agents and is the backbone for all AI-powered, event-driven processes. When a Joule agent needs to retrieve data from a trading partner, trigger a procurement workflow, or post a payment reconciliation — Integration Suite is the layer that makes that happen securely and at scale.

DEBCOR is already designing agentic integration patterns on Integration Suite — MCP endpoint configuration, agent-to-system authorization, event subscription topologies, and the monitoring infrastructure that makes autonomous processes observable. This is not a roadmap item. It is work happening now.

What DEBCOR configures today

  • MCP endpoint design and policy enforcement via API Management
  • Joule agent authorization and scope configuration
  • Event Mesh topic subscriptions for AI-triggered workflows
  • Observable agentic flows — monitored, alerted, auditable
  • Secure agent-to-SAP data access without middleware sprawl

Sapphire 2026

Integration Suite Is How Joule Agents Connect to Your Processes

SAP's Roadmap

At Sapphire 2026, SAP confirmed Integration Suite handles MCP connectivity for Joule agents and is the backbone for AI-powered, event-driven processes. AI-powered migration tooling (embedded in RISE now) promises up to 35–50% effort reduction on migrations. The Knowledge Graph, the Autonomous Enterprise, and every agentic workflow SAP announced depend on it.

DEBCOR Today

DEBCOR has been building Integration Suite implementations since before the Sapphire announcements. When clients activate Joule agents, the integration backbone is already in place — governed, monitored, and AI-ready. When MCP connectivity becomes the default mode of SAP agent interaction, DEBCOR clients are already positioned for it.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is SAP Integration Suite, and what does it actually include?

SAP Integration Suite is SAP's cloud integration platform on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and it is the successor to SAP Process Orchestration (PI/PO) for cloud and hybrid landscapes. It bundles six core capabilities under one commercial relationship: Cloud Integration (the iflow-based message routing and transformation engine that replaces PI/PO's classic role), API Management (catalogue, gateway, security, throttling, and developer portal for SAP and non-SAP APIs), Open Connectors (pre-built adapters to 170+ non-SAP SaaS systems — Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, NetSuite, and more), Event Mesh (publish-subscribe event-driven integration), Integration Advisor (AI-assisted B2B/EDI mapping using SAP's machine-learning library across major B2B standards), and Trading Partner Management (B2B partner onboarding, message tracking, and EDI lifecycle). It runs on BTP rather than on-premise infrastructure, which is what makes it the integration substrate for clean core, Joule agents, and the AI estate SAP is shipping through 2026 and beyond.

What's the difference between SAP Integration Suite and SAP PI/PO?

Architecture, runtime, and roadmap. SAP Process Orchestration (PI/PO) is on-premise middleware running on a dedicated NetWeaver/Java stack — it served well for two decades but reaches end of mainstream maintenance on December 31, 2027, with extended maintenance to 2030. Integration Suite is cloud-native on BTP, multi-tenant, continuously updated by SAP, and integrated with the rest of the BTP services (Event Mesh, Build, AI Core, Joule). Functionally, Cloud Integration replaces classic PI/PO message routing and transformation; API Management replaces what was bolted onto PI/PO with separate tools; Open Connectors replace dozens of custom adapters; Event Mesh and Integration Advisor are net-new capabilities PI/PO did not have. The honest read: PI/PO can do many of the same integration patterns, but it cannot do them at the same cost structure, with the same AI-readiness, or under the same support clock. The Migrate PI/PO to Integration Suite practice page covers the migration approach.

Do we have to use Integration Suite if we're going to S/4HANA Cloud?

Not formally — but practically, for any non-trivial integration scope, yes. S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition (GROW) is built on BTP and assumes Integration Suite as the integration substrate; deploying integrations elsewhere is possible but works against the platform's own design and creates licence, support, and architectural friction. S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition (RISE) gives more flexibility — many RISE customers keep PI/PO running through the 2027/2030 support window and migrate to Integration Suite in a parallel programme. Net-new customers on either model start on Integration Suite by default. The exception is small, point-to-point integrations (a single SaaS connector, a single EDI flow) where the licence and complexity overhead of Integration Suite might exceed value — but those edge cases are rare in enterprise landscapes.

How does Integration Suite relate to SAP BTP — is it the same thing?

Integration Suite is one of the services delivered on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). BTP is the umbrella: a multi-cloud platform-as-a-service running on Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, providing the runtime, identity, security, and database services on which SAP's cloud applications and the customer's extensions run. Integration Suite is the integration service within BTP — alongside Build (low-code), Build Code (pro-code), AI Core and Generative AI Hub (AI), and dozens of database and platform services. RISE and GROW contracts include BTP credits that can be applied to Integration Suite consumption among other services; standalone Integration Suite subscriptions are available outside RISE/GROW. See the SAP BTP page for the full platform overview.

Can SAP Integration Suite connect to non-SAP systems — Salesforce, banks, NetSuite, custom APIs?

Yes, and it is one of the strongest cases for Integration Suite over alternative integration platforms. Open Connectors ships with 170+ pre-built adapters for non-SAP SaaS systems including Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, ServiceNow, HubSpot, Stripe, major banking gateways, and most enterprise SaaS catalogues — each is a maintained connector against the SaaS vendor's API, so when the vendor updates the API SAP updates the connector. Custom REST and SOAP APIs integrate through Cloud Integration's standard HTTPS adapter; gRPC, AMQP, JMS, and SFTP are also supported. API Management gives a unified gateway, throttling, security policy, and developer-portal experience for both SAP and non-SAP APIs — useful when the customer wants to expose SAP capability to external developers under one consistent contract.

What about EDI and B2B trading-partner integration — does Integration Suite cover it?

Yes, and this is where Integration Suite materially leapfrogs classic PI/PO. Trading Partner Management provides B2B partner onboarding, message tracking, EDI lifecycle management, and visibility across every interface — the operational layer most PI/PO customers had to build separately. Integration Advisor uses SAP's machine-learning library across major B2B standards (EDIFACT, X12, ANSI, RosettaNet, GS1) to draft message mappings from the customer's input — replacing weeks of hand-coded mapping work with hours of review-and-adjust. Cloud Integration handles the actual message transformation and routing. For organisations with EDI scope (manufacturing, retail, distribution, healthcare), this combination is often the single biggest reason to accelerate the PI/PO-to-Integration-Suite migration rather than wait for the 2027 deadline.
